THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE – 1888

Ivy Constructions undertook internal demolition and refurbishment works to a series of mould & water damaged rooms throughout the building.

The works included mould & solid plaster removal under strict air-controlled conditions to prevent the spread of the mould and other harmful particles to other rooms. External roofing and render works to remediate the source of the water ingress. Application of a poultice product to remove salt and moisture from the walls. And the reinstatement of a traditional three coat solid plaster and painting the entirety of the rooms to match the original palette.

These works were coordinated to ensure that they were sympathetic with the original design and construction of the 130-year-old building.
