THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE – 228 QUEENSBERRY STREET, CARLTON

Roof restoration works to a historic school building which now functions as the University of Melbourne’s Queensberry Children’s Centre. Works involved removing and replacing the slate roof using Welsh slate, new stainless steel and lead work rainwater items, cleaning the existing roof space for the installation of ceiling insulation, installing a compliant internal and external roof access and walkway systems and stonework repairs.

The major challenge aside from access and fall protection was completing the works around the operating childcare centre with stringent requirements for dust and noise control.
