THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE – RICHARD BERRY BUILDING

An intricate restoration to one of the University of Melbourne’s oldest buildings. The works involved restoration of stonework (externally and internally), refurbishment of the existing steel windows, replacement of glass panels (incorporating hazardous materials removal), associated painting and refurbishment to the internal study rooms.

Challenges were met with the existing corroded steel reinforcement which needed to be treated in-situ beneath the stonework and coordination of the hazardous materials removal whilst within an actively used building.
