THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE – WILSON HALL

Working with Lovell Chen Architects, Ivy Constructions was engaged to remediate the delaminated and missing tiles to the plinth of the organ chamber and surrounding basement windows of Wilson Hall at the heart of the University of Melbourne’s Parkville Campus. Replacement tiles were not commercially available and commissioned via a ceramicist.

This Project included the dismantle and salvage of existing wall tiles, removal of embedded steel fixings, installation of stainless steel dowels and installation of replacement and salvaged tiles onto bedding mortar to match existing.

Care was taken to ensure the new tiles blended with the existing and works were successfully completed amongst the busy university environment.
