Tower Crown

Ivy collaborated with heritage consultants RBA Architects and our stone subcontractor to successfully replace the intricate ‘crown’ stonework of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church in Parkville.

International limestone was carefully sourced and site measurements were meticulously taken before the project began to ensure seamless coordination of materials. Ivy personally conducted quality inspections at the quarry in New Zealand and approved the delivery of the stone to the site.

Our team of experienced stonemasons worked diligently to install new stone elements that matched the original design, as well as to repair and strengthen existing elements. Utilizing a ring system scaffold and a material hoist, Ivy designed an efficient scaffold system that allowed for safe completion of stone and structural steel work at the top of the tower. This was accomplished while also maintaining a secure site in a public location.
