Botany Building

The project focused on restoring the roof and western facade of the University of Melbourne’s Botany Building, working alongside the University and maintaining the integrity of the surrounding gardens.

The restoration included concrete remediation, traditional render repairs, painting of metal and timber windows, glazing repairs, brick repairs, low pressure washing of the facade, metal and tiled roof replacement, installation of an access system, and structural lintel repairs.

Throughout the project, efforts were made to ensure the building remained fully operational in the bustling university environment. Ivy maintained regular communication with key stakeholders such as the client project team, building occupants, and university gardening team.

Special consideration was given to building impact with sensitive laboratories operating within the building and significant trees and vegetation in the garden beds around the structure.
