A premiere address on Collins Street, Ivy undertook façade conservation works to the once George’s Department Store which operated in the building from 1880 to 1995.

To ensure the successful completion of the project, Ivy collaborated closely with remedial engineers. The initial phase of the restoration process involved repairing the traditional render on the facade and thoroughly cleaning the exterior of the building. Following this, a new coating system was carefully installed to protect the structure and enhance its appearance.

Throughout the project, stringent quality control measures were in place to guarantee the high standard of workmanship.

Works were delivered in one of Melbourne’s busiest CBD precincts, with Ivy utilising our experience by carefully coordinating permits, public protection measures and communication with occupants & neighbouring tenancies.
