ST KILDA SYNAGOGUE

A complex restoration project developed from initial Ivy Constructions consulting services which assisted in the approval of grant funding. The project involved a number of external factors whilst predominantly an  internal restoration of this iconic building in St Kilda. Works include structural brickwork remediation, new fire escape stair systems and the complete restoration of the internal areas of the Shule requiring specialised scaffolding.

A high level of involvement and consultation was undertaken into colour selection and its heritage impact, treatment of salts within walls, and pinning repairs to decayed ceiling panels. A key consideration was completing sections of the works including the main Shule dome and surrounding areas within key dates while respecting the continued religious and cultural use of the building.
